Independence Day-Secondary:

MSB Kolkata celebrated E-Independence Day on the 15th of August, 2020 with great vigour and enthusiasm. It was a challenge that was readily accepted and immensely exhibited by the students and the MSB team. It was a vibrant and successful show which was highly appreciated by all.

It started with the Tilawat - ul - Quran recitation, followed by the virtual flag hoisting ceremony and the National Anthem. The students then introduced and invited the viewers to the Independence Day celebration. A class X student recited a self-written poem titled "Freedom a Necessity", based on what freedom means to students. Then began the tour of the four corners of India, immersing us in the rich culture, cuisine, relief features, and beauty of various destinations across the country. This was followed by a short exhibition on various tri-coloured crafts, like the National bird, National flower, and Independence Day greeting cards presented by the class V & VI students. A home science exhibition of tri-coloured cuisine by the class VIII students came next. Followed by the recitation of a Hindi poem, "Kartavya Bodh", by a class X student, It served as a reminder towards our duties as citizens of our nation. This plethora of beautiful, colourful and culturally enriched events came to a fitting end, with a speech by a class IX student marking the conclusion of the program. The celebration continued for the students as a Sit N Draw Competition and Quiz in Kahoot.

The entire experience would not have been such a resounding success if it weren't for the comprehensive cooperation between the teachers and the student body, and the meticulous guidance meted by the authorities in every step of the way. It reminded us all of the vibrancy and beauty of our beloved country and our pride in being its citizens.
