CCL Class 3 - Health and Hygiene

CCL Class 3 - Health and Hygiene:

The topic ‘Cleanliness, Health & Hygiene’ (Science) was introduced in the form Cross-curricular learning, inter-connecting lessons that capture their imagination.

The subjects that were covered under Cross-curricular learning were –

Science-(Entry)- A short introduction was given followed by a video and then children were divided into groups of three to make a collage of various activities they do, to take care of their body on the quarter chart paper provided.

Maths- Height and weight of the children was measured and calculated their BMI to gauge whether the weight is in healthy proportion to their height.

Hindi- A short video on ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ was shown followed by a worksheet.

Art/Craft- The concept of Reduce, reuse, recycle, Recreation was taken and children made coasters out of CDs, decorating them with coloured paper.

Home science- Children were briefed with the concept of healthy and junk food followed by a short activity.

PE-Various asans were taught and it's benefits were discussed.

Dirasat Islamiyah- (Exit) To wrap-up a short video on ‘Nazafat minal Iman’ was shown and was concluded by making posters on how to keep our environment clean.

Objectives –The main objective of CCl was to incorporate different subjects into one concept. 

Outcome-Thus, children were enthusiastic and participated well. It fostered teamwork, motivated students in the learning process. They were totally engaged in this creative way of developing knowledge, understanding and practical skills through a study of interconnected topics.
